Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

I have compiled a list of frequently asked questions for your convenience. If you have other questions, feel free to email me at contact@ajphotographer.ca

Q.Can I pick and choose what is in my wedding photography package?

A: Of course! I offer different packages, but I am also gladly to customize any of my packages to suit your photography needs.

Q.Do you deliver every image you shoot?

A: No, I do not. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focus shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery.

Q.If my event lasts longer than scheduled, will you stay?

A: Yes, of course. You can always add additional hours if needed on your wedding day or upgrade your package for higher one.

Q.Do you do destination weddings? What additional fees are associated with destination weddings?

A: While Alexandra Jakubowska wedding photography is based in Toronto and GTA area (main office in Hamilton) I can always consider traveling to other parts of the world for your special day. My destination wedding photography packages include the cost of travel and reasonable accommodations plus half price of every package. For more information please contact me.

Q.How many photos do you take?

A: There is no limit to the pictures that I take. On average from 8 hrs coverage I deliver 550 good pictures (one photographer).

Q.Does your studio do headshots, individual portraits, family portraits, newborn shoots, commercial photography, or other types of photography?

A: Yes, I have experience in many fields of photography. Feel free to email me at contact@ajphotographer.ca

Q.What is your payment schedule?

A: There are two parts: one to reserve the day (deposit of $600), rest of the balance at the wedding day.

Q.Can I see a full event from start to finish?

A: Of course you may! I pride myself on the consistency of my work and always encourage all of my potential clients to view a full wedding album.

Q.How long in advance should we book you as our wedding photographer?

A: To make sure you get the date that you want, you should book more than a year in advance. Please contact me for specific availability.

Q.My venue is very dark. How would you handle these situations?

A: I have shot in the darkest of dark chapels and reception halls so no need to worry! If the situation allows, I will set up additional lighting to ensure we get focused pictures.

Q.The Ceremony is late in the day, can we arrange to do the couples photos earlier in the day?

A: Absolutely! It is a very good idea. It will save time and you will be less stressed during the day.

Q.Do you touch up all the images in our image download?

A: Yes I do and I do it myself to keep the consistent work and to make sure that my customers are happy with their images. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, tone-mapping, and other corrections. Many photographers do not post produce any images, or will only post produce “select” images from your wedding. This means that you may have pictures that are too dark, have strange skin tones or other common photography flaws. Not in my case!

Q.What makes you different from all the other photographers we found?

A: There is so much fierce talent out there on the market today! Personalities and style are two of the most important influences for making your decision on who to hire to photograph your wedding day. If you feel like we are a good match and you love portfolio and style then don’t hesitate and book your date before it is too late!

Q.Do you offer engagement sessions?

A: Of course! My pre-wedding engagement session allows the bride and groom to settle those butterflies and learn how to work with the camera before show time.

Q.When should we do our engagement session?

A: I encourage you to do your engagement session as soon as possible. If you booked me one year before your wedding date then I would suggest choosing the season that you like the most. The latest I suggest is at least 4 weeks prior to the wedding date due to the time necessary to post produce each image.

Q.When and where can we view our engagement pictures?

A: You will get a sneak peek within 3 days of the session. Then you will be getting the photos uploaded periodically to your secure online gallery until I'm done retouching all the photos (usually within a few weeks).

Q.Do you offer discounts for intimate, off-season or last minute weddings?

A: Yes, I do. Contact me and there is always room for some negotiations.
